Competitons & Scholarships
One:One Competition Perth 2012 Design : Build : Collaborate : Network One:One aims to encourage collaboration between architecture students and architecture professionals to facilitate the building of relationships and encourage mentoring. The event is a fast paced design and build collaboration. With a set brief, teams have one day to design and construct a built response to the brief at the scale of One:One. A broad cross section of individuals gather for this event and upon completion, the project site is opened up for viewing and use by the public. One:One is the premier student:practitioner collaborative run annually by the Student Organised Network for Architecture (SONA) and the Emerging Architects and Graduates Network (EmAGN). Artist Residence, Studio & Gallery
The brief challenged us to create a residence for a famous artist of our choosing that also incorporated a studio workspace and gallery. The building is situated upon a tightly sloping site in the Western Suburbs of Perth adjacent to a disused quarry. I studied the artist LS Lowry as my client for the project and sought to replicate the industrial landscape of Lancashire that he so famously painted within my final design.

City Farm Retreat
The studio brief was to create eco-friendly residential pods on a working city farm. The eco retreat within the urban context was to provide short term basic accomodation, space for communal amenities and activities, provision for an educational center, all centered around a hydroponic green produce wall that is actually located on the site. My design allowed sleeping areas to be located off the ground within circular pods suspended within the "branches" of the trees. Communal cooking and learning space was located on the ground floor with access to green wall produce.
Car Park Facade
This design-based unit introduced the idea of the design team, and to the various essential and complementary areas of knowledge that contribute to the design project in its broad definition. The unit focused on design projects that involve industrial production of components to make up a whole. To this end, the unit covers modular systems, repetitive operations, multi-component systems, assembly processes, technical performance requirements and their application to specific design problems. The evolution of the car park facade project involved a wide range of presentation and working processes. This included oral presentation of project proposals, digital presentation and modelling, drawing, physical modelling and workshop exercises.
